This brings in advantages for characters who need to maintain a close distance to keep up with their opponents. The main advantage of this method is that Soul Charge is normally activated in a manner that knocks the opponent away, where as Soul Attack keeps you within range (as attacks usually do). The talk of the town is the “Soul Attack,” an offense move that sets off the “Soul Charged” stage. The point is, everyone is able to beat each other up more, and hopefully this raises trash-tier characters from the dumpster.īut more importantly, there are some new moves features for every character. In the end, it looks like almost everyone got some buffs, while the less popular characters received a mix of nerfs and buffs. Just as a temperature check, pretty much everyone has been hoping for some nerfs on Azwel.

The first part, a giant update patch, will come on November 26. What’s In Soulcalibur 6 Season 2, Then?īandai Namco announced Season 2 as being in development Evo in early August, and it’s finally almost here. Soulcalibur 6’s new season comes with a fresh customization pack for all your custom character shenanigans. So thanks to the upkeep of the community by dedicated fans, Bandai Namco continued to support the game. And that’s on top of the game keeping healthy numbers at locals and larger “majors” around the world. (Disclosure: I ran an early-stage bracket for the game, plus some for Smash, at the event.) The latter will have yet another Soulcalibur 6 tournament this January. However, it made a splash at Evo and Evo Japan the flagship Vegas event had 746 participants. As many great games do, it simmered out of mainstream afterwards. It included a massive range of customization options for the characters’ bodies, which led to plenty of out-of-game character recreations and memes. Last year, Soulcalibur 6 made a splash with its custom character creator. I may be biased, as someone who has a ton of Soulcalibur 6-playing friends, but the Bandai Namco’s continued support of the game doesn’t lie.

The developers have hinted that their continued support is because of two things I’ve recently discovered in the past eight or so months: One, Soulcalibur 6 is extremely good. This includes a free patch in which literally every character gets a brand new move style, called “Soul Attack.” Plus, there’s also the return of a classic character, Hilde, and a new character customization pack. Bandai Namco is bringing a Season 2 content pack for Soulcalibur 6.
